Take a look at my black and white galleries (120 and 35mm). These contain a selection of my favourite images. The pictures you’ll see there have all been scanned from negatives, and although the on screen images are great the printed images are far more ‘alive’.
I use a fine art B&W printer in South Africa, Dennis da Silva is a good friend of mine and has been printing for 35 years. He’s an artisan and an artist in his own right. I send my films to him for processing and he does the hand printing. Find out more about what he does by visiting http://alternativeprintworkshop.co.za/.
I mean, limited edition. Most of my images are editions of 5. A few images are editions of 20. I keep edition 1 and the remainder are available for purchase.
Regardless of whether they’re 35mm or 6×6 negatives I never print my images smaller than 16″x20″. The specific type of paper is discussed with the client but is usually selenium toned Ilford genuine silver gelatin fiber base paper. Prints are then ‘touched up’ by hand to eradicate dust specs and paper imperfections.
Prints start at £750. This includes postage and delivery to anywhere in the world. Framing can be arranged for an additional fee. You will also receive a letter of authentication that assures you of the authenticity of your print.
Because of the nature of printing, and because of where I have the images printed it can take up to a month from payment to delivery.
